Rooted in the belief that anesthesiologists are the only physicians within the hospital who have expertise in all operational areas of the hospital both clinically and administratively, the AACD is committed to helping all members and institutions leverage our unique perspectives and global view to improve operational processes for those whom we serve. Because we serve with the unique ability to coordinate operational activities in the operating rooms, intensive care units, nontraditional anesthetizing locations, and with the advent of perioperative surgical home, traditional med-surg floors, data driven improvements in efficiency will contribute to superior patient care and safety as well as secondary financial stewardship for each institution. The AACD will assist the physician anesthesiologist to drive conversations in the rapidly changing health care system.
