
Dr. Pornswan Ngamprasertwong

Originally from Thailand, Dr. Pornswan Ngamprasertwong completed her medical training and residency in anesthesiology in 2002 at Chulalongkorn University and King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital. In the United States, she has completed three anesthesia fellowships and earned a Master's Degree in Clinical and Translational Science, demonstrating her commitment to advancing both clinical practice and research.
She has received numerous prestigious awards and scholarships, including the Proposal Award, the Young Investigator Award (two years in a row), the Foundation for Research Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) award, and a scholarship from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). Her groundbreaking work in maternal-fetal anesthesia was published in the Anesthesiology journal as a lead article in 2013.
Leadership Progression at Cincinnati Children's
Dr. Ngamprasertwong has been the Anesthesia Clinical Director at Cincinnati Children's since 2013. She became the Procedure Center's Director in 2021 and was promoted to Lead Anesthesia Clinical Director and Perioperative Medical Informative Officer in 2022, reflecting her growing influence and expertise in perioperative leadership.
Her clinical specialty focuses on pediatric anesthesia and operating room management. She became a Fellow of the Association of Anesthesia Clinical Directors (AACD) in 2021 and joined the Board of AACD in 2023, contributing her expertise to the broader anesthesiology community.

Recognizing the pivotal role played by the anesthesia clinical director in ensuring stability and sustainability within perioperative environments, Dr. Ngamprasertwong understands the need for additional training in leadership, operating room management, quality improvement science, negotiation, and business. She is honored to have received the Aubrey Rose Foundation Doctor of the Year Award for her passion and care as an anesthesia provider and leader. When she's not working, she loves traveling and trying new restaurants in the area.
