Dr. Elizabeth Duggan serves as an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Vice Chair of Professional Development for the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Her primary clinical research interest focuses on the optimization and management of perioperative hyperglycemia, including risk factor identification, mitigation, and treatment.

Dr. Duggan brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her work, holding a master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and certification as an Executive Coach. This combination of clinical expertise and organizational psychology provides her with distinctive insights into healthcare leadership and team dynamics.

Organizational Leadership & Workplace Culture

Her work includes efforts to optimize physician engagement, promote healthy team dynamics, and identify and influence positive workplace culture. Dr. Duggan applies principles from organizational psychology to address the complex human factors challenges facing modern healthcare environments.
