Dr. Franklin first became involved with the AACD when invited to give a lecture about 6 years ago. He was immediately drawn to the small, but powerful conference attended by very accomplished perioperative leaders who participated in thought-provoking discussion sessions following every presentation.
Dr. Franklin quickly became an active member and has incorporated several pearls learned from the Summit meetings into his own practice of medicine, using them to improve his hospital system. He decided to become a Board member to help grow the organization and foster its continued success, as he believes the AACD is truly the highest impact professional organization within the field of anesthesiology and perioperative medicine.

Dr. Franklin is a pediatric anesthesiologist who is very passionate about providing the best possible care to young patients. His dedication to pediatric medicine reflects his commitment to serving one of the most vulnerable patient populations.
As an academic anesthesiologist, he enjoys leading positive disruptive change in large organizations, mentoring the career growth of junior colleagues, and helping multiple healthcare teams craft positive synergy to improve patient care. His approach combines clinical excellence with transformational leadership to drive meaningful improvements in healthcare delivery.
