
Dr. Curtis Choice
Education & Early Career
Dr. Curtis Choice graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in Commerce with Finance and Marketing concentrations, before pursuing medicine. He completed the combined MD/MS Program at Medical College of Ohio (Toledo) and went on to complete his anesthesiology residency at University of Medicine and Dentistry (University Hospital), where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Choice pursued his passion for pediatric anesthesiology through a fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC, establishing his expertise in specialized pediatric care. Following his fellowship, he became a partner at Loudoun Anesthesia Associates and later American Anesthesiology of Virginia.
Leadership at Montefiore Health System
Dr. Choice moved to New York City to open the newly constructed 16 OR stand-alone Hospital Outpatient Department for Montefiore Health System and was promoted to serve as Director of Anesthesia Services for the main hospital of Montefiore Health System, the Moses Division. He was recently elevated to Senior Director of Network Expansion and Integration and serves as the Medical Director and Director of Anesthesia for 497 Greenwich Surgical Suites located in the Hudson Square neighborhood of Manhattan.
Dr. Choice successfully managed the merger of MMC Anesthesiology with Sound Shore Anesthesia for Montefiore New Rochelle, and established MMC Anesthesiology for Montefiore Mount Vernon, demonstrating his expertise in organizational development and strategic integration.
Academic Interests & Personal Life
Dr. Choice has academic interests in Practice Management, Ambulatory Anesthesia, COVID management, and Implementation Science. He holds the appointment of Associate Professor in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Anesthesiology, Dentistry, and Urology, contributing to the education and development of future medical professionals.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Choice showcases his creative side as the guitarist for the Montefiore Urology Band, aptly named "Clean Catch and Company," demonstrating his commitment to building camaraderie and fostering a positive work culture through music and collaboration.
